Piastri has an impressive track record in the junior series having won Formula Renault, F3 and F2 one after the other on his first attempts at each. He acted as reserve driver for Alpine in 2022 and controversially left them for McLaren for 2023, instigating a raft of headlines and threatened legal action. All was resolved and the Australian now lines up alongside Lando Norris at the British team.
