Since his debut with McLaren in 2018, Lando has quickly become one of the most popular drivers on the grid through both his social media presence and outstanding drives. He has been a pivotal figure in putting the team back up into the top half of the grid and recovering hope of a return to the famed glory days.

Won the MSA Formula championship in 2015 and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2016, he received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2016, subsequently joined the McLaren Young Driver Programme and won the F3 Championship in 2017 with Carlin, finished second to George Russell in the 2018 F2 Championship, made his F1 debut for McLaren alongside Carlos Sainz in 2019, achieved his first podium at the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix in 3rd place, Norris gained 2nd place behind teammate Daniel Ricciardo in Monza at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix to acquire McLaren's first 1-2 finish since the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix, took his first pole position at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix and lost out on the win when rain came in the final laps and Norris chose not to pit for wet tyres.
Norris has been awarded the Autosport British Competition Driver of the Year 3 times from 2019-2021.
